This three-part training includes sections on three critical issues of school law:

  • Part I examines the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act, also known as the Buckley Amendment. Teachers learn about restrictions on sharing student information as well as the rights of parents in examining student records and instructional materials.
  • Part II outlines the mandate that educators report any suspected child abuse within 48 hours.
  • Part III of the training discusses copyright law and “fair use” guidelines in using copyrighted printed material, music, videos and software.
