This course is an introduction to the field of Early Childhood Education including the History of Head Start and roles and responsibilities of staff. This online course is beneficial to teachers new to Head Start and preschool, Early Head Start staff, and paraprofessionals. It is a year long course divided into two semesters. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a total of 6 credit hours.

The purpose of the Head Start Confidentiality Procedures course is to educate Head Start and Early Head Start staff professionals about the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of student records, ensuring professional conduct is adhered to, using relevant communication skills and understanding the appropriate use of social media, and keeping the privacy rights of students and families in mind at all times.
There are five sections:
- Professional Conduct
- Social Media
- Communication Skills
- Continuing education
Activities include videos and end of task questions. An 80% completion is required on the End of Course Quiz. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate.

This course provides participants with research-based information related to Response to Intervention at the Pre-Kindergarten level. Participants will become familiar with the Recognition and Response approach to Pre-Kindergarten Response to Intervention. Participants are also provided with the opportunity to create an action plan for their own classrooms, campuses, or districts that relates to the content of this course.
This course may be accessed for free if the participant is employed by a district with membership in the Region 10 ESC Preschool co-op.
