This online course is designed to extend the knowledge and understanding of participants in additional aspects of the learning environment and learner needs as they hone their skill set in the lesson planning process. Topics explored in this course will include effective family communication, differentiated instruction, English Language Learners, students with dyslexia and other special needs, technology integration, and the effects of mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention. 

The CERTification at Region 10 Program is a state-accredited alternative certification program that provides an opportunity for qualified individuals to gain Texas teacher certification. This course is a component of the CERTification Program requirements.
