This online course is designed to lay the foundation for participants to become highly effective teachers able to meet the needs and challenges of English Language Learners and provides relevant resources for creating a language-rich environment. Topics explored in this course will include stages of oral language, reading, spelling, and the acquisition of written expression. 

The CERTification at Region 10 Program is a state-accredited alternative certification program that provides an opportunity for qualified individuals to gain Texas teacher certification. This course is a component of the CERTification Program requirements.
