TExES Review: Special Education

This online course is designed to provide a basic understanding of TExES Special Education exams, both test #161 (EC-12) and #163 (SPED Supplemental) and will include test taking strategies, test information and various activities for exam preparation. 

 The Region 10 Professional Educator Preparation Program (PrEP) is a state-accredited certification program that provides an opportunity for highly-qualified individuals to become a school counselor* and/or a school diagnostician. This course is a component of the PrEP program requirements. This course is available to program participants ONLY.

*For participants in the school counselor program, completion of this class fulfills the prerequisite for Introduction to Exceptional Children.

Instructional Methods and Strategies Part C: SPED and Exceptional Students

This online course is designed for participants to explore and understand content specific TEKS and to become familiar with instructional methods and strategies based in best practices. Participants will explore and understand key concepts of special education and various exceptionalities.

The Region 10 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program (TPC) is a state-accredited alternative certification program that provides an opportunity for highly-qualified individuals to gain Texas teacher certification. This course is a component of the TPC program requirements.
